Palm missing the boat!
For a long time I have been wondering who is making the calls over at Palm Inc. The question is this, you've got a touch screen device with one of the most beloved UI's in the world. Your platform plays hosts to thousands of third party applications ranging from Bejeweled to SmartListToGo a powerful database application. The tech community is begging for an ipod killer and yet you refuse to step up. Every month or so I do a search to find out if Palm has come to this realization yet, and thus far no dice. It seems they're so incredibly focused on selling their devices to Microsoft that they can't see the gaping hole in the market. Well Palm Inc, here's a little gratis advice, take your treo, add a new shiny hard drive make it say 20-40gb and watch the market share roll in. Seriously what's the hold up? I can't wait to be able to take all of my music, and have the touch screen pocket tunes interface, not to mention the video playback allowed by TCPMP (For the uninitiated it'll play back just about any video). All of the pieces of the puzzle are there, you know how to use a hard drive because you have the LifeDrive, you know how to make a phone, The Treo, you've even got a decent online store setup in your AddIt software that comes preloaded on the newest tungsten. With all of the recent talk of Microsoft's Zune Project, I thought you may have caught on. The oversight of the gaping market gap is leading me to believe that perhaps you're the one helping Microsoft develop their Zune...
